Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
Rev. Dr. Kitty Boitnott, NBCT
Certified Life Strategies, Stress Management, and Holistic Life Coach
For today's video message, click here. You have heard the saying, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Did you know that it was a quote from Benjamin Franklin? I didn't until recently, but it makes sense. Ben Franklin was full of suggestions for living better. Another one of his famous quotes was "Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise," and another good one is "One today is worth two tomorrows."
I offer this saying for your consideration because I think many of us stop ourselves from "venturing" into unknown territory whether it is a job, a relationship, or some other aspect of our lives out of fear. We fear failure for sure. We fear what others will say about our failure perhaps even more.
But this simple but straightforward statement is a reminder that "nothing ventured, nothing gained" which means if you don't want to grow, don't take any chances. Most of our best learning comes from failure. No one is immune from falling down once in a while, and everyone benefits from stretching themselves at least occasionally.
Do you have some area in your life where you are feeling stuck and unable--or unwilling--to move forward? Could you use some encouragement? Do you need some advice on how to write a resume for a new job? Do you need to take advantage of learning from me how to optimize your LinkedIn profile?
Whatever you need, if you need someone to help get you jump started or to help you stay on track toward a goal you have set for yourself, give me a call. I am here to help.
Until next time.
