Why It’s So Important To Find Your Passion and Purpose
Rev. Dr. Kitty Boitnott, NBCT, RScP
Heart-Centered Career Transition & Job Search Coach
I have been thinking a lot about why it is crucial to find your passion and purpose. I have also been thinking about why it is so hard for some people to decide what their passion and purpose is.
Why is it that some of us have so much trouble identifying something so fundamental to our happiness?
My theory is that we have been conditioned to believe we can't live on passion and purpose alone. We were told that we would need a "real job." We were discouraged from focusing too much on talent, gift, or hobby as a way to earn our way in the world. As a result, many of us gave up on our dreams at an early age. We bought into the myth that we couldn't make a living by living our purpose.
How sad is that?
And why am I so obsessed with people finding their passion and purpose?
Because I believe it is the secret ingredient to a truly happy life. When you can identify your real mission on earth, you have hit gold, figuratively if not literally.
So, let's take a look at what the perks of identifying your passion and purse might be.
Your Life Takes on New Meaning
When you focus on your life’s true passion and purpose, it gives everything you do new meaning. You become laser-focused on reaching your goals which brings you closer to success. It becomes so much easier to accomplish things on your to-d0 list when they are done with passion and purpose.
Your Value System Becomes Front and Center
You become keenly aware of your personal value system. You don’t need to waste time or energy each day trying to figure out if what you’re doing is "right" or not.
When you are in alignment with your true purpose, there is no doubt that you are on the right track. You can be confident that you are living in alignment with your core values 100% of the time.
Your Self Worth Increases
When living with passion and purpose, you take more pride in what you do. Because of the confidence, you feel in going for your ultimate goal in life, you begin to feel more at ease with yourself. Self-worth is something that comes from within.
You Start to Experience Fulfillment and More Happiness
The true secret to a happy life is feeling completely fulfilled by the life you’re living.
We need to feel that we are making a difference in the world. You might think that material things bring you happiness. But we have evidence all around us that tells us that isn't true.
Your Mental and Physical Health Improves
Last but not least, living with purpose is good for your health.
Feeling needed, being helpful, and adding value to others positively affects your physical, mental, and emotional health. Living a passionate and purposeful life can lessen the risk of heart disease and stroke. It also protects you against depression. One of the best ways to fight depression is to find meaning and purpose each day.

I am really excited about getting this webinar going so I can help as many people as possible find their passion and purpose.
BUT THAT'S NOT EVEN ALL THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW!
Start watching for some emails from me later this week about the Online Summit that I was a part of with Suzanne Klein, a former teacher turned entrepreneur. She has interviewed me and several others about our transition from teaching to the world of business.
Two of the most famous and well-known guests she has gotten to be on her program are the one and only Roberta Flack and the equally one and only Jack Canfield ( the Chicken Soup of the Soul guy).
These two, as well as more than 20 others, have been interviewed by Suzanne who sold her last business for seven figures. And now she is getting ready to start another one.
Stay tuned for more information about this exciting opportunity to learn from former teachers how they left the classroom behind and moved into owning their own business.
